چکیده

Model Predictive Control (MPC) is shown to provide a robust, flexible framework to stabilize inventories yet still meet customer demand with minimal safety stock. The translation of available information in the supply chain problem into MPC variables is demonstrated with a two-node supply chain example. A six-node, two-product, threeechelon demand network simulation proposed by Intel Corp. is well managed by the framework under realistic demand and information inaccuracies.

Optimal Inventory and Pricing Policies for Supply Chain Networks

An optimisation-based control framework that simultaneously determines the optimal inventory and product pricing policies is developed for multi-product, multi-echelon supply chain networks. The optimisation problem aims at adjusting the available manufacturing resources, product distribution, inventories and prices for the entire supply chain network to satisfy demand while maximising network ...

Multi-Objective Optimization for Multi-Product Multi-Period Four Echelon Supply Chain Problems Under Uncertainty

The multi-objective optimization for a multi-product multi-period four-echelon supply chain network consisting of manufacturing plants, distribution centers (DCs) and retailers each with uncertain services and uncertain customer nodes are aimed in this paper. The two objectives are minimization of the total supply chain cost and maximization of the average number of products dispatched to custo...

Application of Model Predictive Control to Robust Management of Multiechelon Demand Networks in Semiconductor Manufacturing

Model predictive control (MPC) is presented as a robust, flexible decision framework for dynamically managing inventories and satisfying customer demand in demand networks. In this paper, a formulation and the benefits of an MPC-based, control-oriented tactical inventory management system meaningful to the semiconductor industry are presented via two significant examples. The translation of ava...

Bi-product inventory planning in a three-echelon supply chain with backordering, Poisson demand, and limited warehouse space

In this paper, we apply continuous review (S-1, S) policy for inventory control in a three-echelon supply chain (SC) including r identical retailers, a central warehouse with limited storage space, and two independent manufacturing plants which offer two kinds of product to the customer. The warehouse of the model follows (M/M/1) queue model where customer demands follow a Poisson probabilit...
